A twist on the classic rice crispy bars! Replace the rice crispies with pretzels and add some Nutella and you have some of the best no bake bars ever!
As you’ve noticed, I’m a bit head over heels with bars. Any kind of bars: cookie bars, no bake bars, basically any kind of bar. And I don’t care! Just “bar” with me because there are a handful of bars posts in the near future.
To start off, these bars! They’re inspired by my best friend’s love for Nutella. These bars were so fantastic. I love the sweet and salty factor in anything, which is why I used pretzels instead of rice crispies. (Oh the things you think of when you have a limited number of items in your cupboard.)
These are easy enough to make. First crush up the pretzels. (I gave that job to the boys.) What’s the easiest way to crush the pretzels? Put all of the pretzels in a big bowl and using the bottom of a cup, press down and chop. They crush up very nicely. Stop crushing the pretzels before they become powder. There may be a few bigger chunks, but just crush those with your hands.
Then, melt the Marshmallows, butter and Nutella. I microwaved them. I put it all in a big bowl and microwaved for about thirty seconds. Then I removed the bowl and stirred. Even if they don’t look melted, start stirring. That helps the butter melt as well. Once you’ve stirred for about thirty seconds, return the bowl to the microwave and microwave for another thirty seconds. Stir, then microwave again until the Marshmallows, Nutella and butter are melty and pourable.
Finally, add the pretzels! Mix mix mix and then press into a pan. I put them in the freezer for about fifteen minutes. Then I cut them up!
So DELICIOUS!
- 4 cups mini Marshmallows
- 1/2 cup Nutella
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 6 cups pretzels, crushed
- In a bowl, measure out the pretzels. Use a the bottom of a cup or some other object to crush the pretzels into small pieces. Try to avoid grinding them into a powder.
- After you’re done crushing the pretzels, melt the Marshmallows, butter and Nutella in the microwave. Microwave for thirty seconds, remove and then stir. Repeat twice or until the mixture is smooth and pourable.
- Pour over the pretzels. Mix until evenly spread throughout. Then spread into an 8 x 8 pan and put in the fridge to cool.
- Cut and serve! Enjoy.
These. Just. Look. Amazing!! My bf will flip for them, definitely book-marking and trying soon. Love the pics too.
Hi Cat!!! Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words! Let me know how they turn out 🙂
